Our city has a total length of over 80 km. Despite the fact the city stands on the Volga river, it is known for its hot summers.
The average July temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, and the average temperature in August is 29 degrees Celsius, and it’s in the shade! At 12 o’clock in the afternoon in the sun the temperature can rise above 35 degrees Celsius, so it is highly recommended, when visiting the city in summer months, to have hats, sunglasses. Going on a tour (even if it is by car), don’t forget that we will stop, so you need to bring along drinking water, if necessary, treat skin with sunscreen lotion. We also advise to wear loose clothing, made of natural fabric and, of course, comfortable shoes!!!
